Agility = Catalytic + Celoxica ESL

Vision

System design starts with ideas: how best to transmit gigabytes of data through the air, how to decode that data to display sharp motion video on a large screen and many more. It takes algorithms to make these ideas possible. Algorithm developers create the key differentiation for many electronic products; their creations drive product development.

Due to its scientific nature, algorithm development is often separate from the rest of the product development organization. It has its own development timeline, tool flow, and methodology. Because algorithm development is where electronic design begins, tools in this area have the highest potential for impact on many end products.

Company Background

Agility’s mission is to shorten the time to develop, implement and verify signal processing algorithms.

Agility speeds the development of signal processing algorithms offering complete solutions for algorithm acceleration, prototyping and implementation in both software and hardware. The solutions include Agility’s unique software technologies for MATLAB to C and C to FPGA synthesis and a rich portfolio of synthesizable algorithmic functions and FPGA hardware platforms. Agility completes the solutions with services delivered by a team of expert users to help customers meet deadlines and delivery requirements.

Agility’s customers differentiate their products with leading edge algorithms. With over 100 customers and 1000s of successful algorithm implementations in FPGA and software, Agility is a proven supplier for getting from algorithm to implementation, fast.

Agility Design Solutions was incorporated in January of 2008 when Catalytic Inc. changed its name after combining with the Celoxica ESL business. The Celoxica ESL business was built on original research from Oxford and started selling commercial product in 2001. Catalytic Inc. was founded in 2001 to develop technology to go from MATLAB to C and began selling commercial product in 2005.

Agility is backed by ITU Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and CMEA Ventures.

Agility has offices in Palo Alto, California; Austin, Texas; Abingdon, England and Yokohama, Japan.
