Dave Burow, President and CEO

Dave Burrow - President and CEO

Dave Burow has more than 20 years' senior management experience within the electronic design automation and semiconductor industries. Previously he was Senior VP and General Manager of major divisions at Synopsys and Viewlogic. Dave has been CEO at start-ups Arithmatica, CrossCheck Technology and SimuCAD and COO at Silicon Architects. Early in his career he was a founder of the Gate Array Division of Fairchild Semiconductor and VP of Marketing at California Devices.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Dave was elected to serve on the EDA Consortium Board of Directors in 2008. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Claria Corporation and Numetrics Management Systems Inc.

Randy Allen, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Technical Officer

Randy Allen - CTO

Randy Allen has over 20 years of software and compiler development experience in startup companies, advanced technology divisions, and research organizations. Prior to founding Catalytic, he served as Vice President of Engineering at CynApps, Vice President of Performance Engineering at Chronologic Simulation, Executive Director of Software Development at Kubota/Ardent Computer, and Director in the Advanced Technology Group at Synopsys.

Randy Allen is coauthor of the book Optimizing Compilers for Modern Architectures. He has authored or coauthored 15 conference and journal papers on compiler optimization, restructuring compilers, and hardware simulation. Randy received his A.B. Summa Cum Laude in Chemistry from Harvard University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University.

John Pacholski, Chief Financial Officier

John Pacholski - VP Finance

Mr. Pacholski brings over twenty years of accounting and finance experience to Agility Design Solutions. Prior to joining Agility Mr. Pacholski was the Vice President of Finance for ClickShift, a SEM advertising software company acquired by Webtrends. As a contract CFO, he helped over a dozen early stage venture funded companies backed by Sequoia, USVP and other top venture capital firms. Earlier in his career, as Controller and Treasurer for Intuit he managed the finance organization through growth of $18 million to over $500 million in revenues. He oversaw the financial aspects of the S-1 during Intuits' successful IPO in 1993 and participated in the due diligence of several Intuit acquisitions. John began his career with Ernst & Young in Chicago where he specialized in the auditing of privately held companies and earned his CPA credentials. Mr. Pacholski obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois and has an MBA from the University of Michigan. As Vice President of Finance, he has responsibility for all the G&A functions for Agility Design Solutions.

Roger Gook, Director Strategic Business Development

Roger Gook - Director Stategic Business Development

Roger Gook has more than 25 years experience in engineering, sales, marketing and management roles within the electronic and computer industries. Roger joined Agility in January 2008 through the acquisition of Celoxica's ESL tools business. He was a founder of Celoxica and prior to that Sales Director at Parsys. For much of his career he worked for Digital Equipment Corporation where he specialised in the O.E.M. and technical computing market. He also worked in academia as a Computer Science lecturer. He started his career as a design and commissioning engineer at British Telecom. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the London South Bank University and is a Chartered Engineer.

Jeff Jussel, Vice President of C Solutions Sales

Jeff Jussel - VP C Solutions Sales

Jussel is an EDA industry veteran with over 21 years experience in electronic design serving in engineering, sales, marketing and management roles. Jussel joined Agility in January 2008 through the acquisition of Celoxica's ESL tools business. In over 5 years at Celoxica, Jussel served as VP Marketing and General Manager of the Celoxica business and sales in the Americas. In his roles, he defined product messaging and strategic direction for C-based ESL solutions, directed corporate marketing and communications, built relationships with strategic partners, and participated in and managed sales activities around the world. Prior to Celoxica, Jussel worked at Mentor Graphics for nearly a decade, serving the last two years as head of worldwide marketing for the professional services division.

Originally an ASIC designer Jussel worked through a variety of roles including chip design, applications engineering, engineering management, marketing, business development and program management. He has been responsible for the development and launch of various products in areas including FPGA accelerated computing, EDA infrastructure and design methodology, and design solutions delivered with professional services. Before joining the EDA industry, Jussel held design engineering positions in the semiconductor and defense industries at GEC Plessey Semiconductors and Hughes Aircraft.

Jussel holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and a BSEE from the University of Nebraska.

Larry Melling, Vice President Marketing

Larry Melling - VP Marketing

Larry Melling has more than 10 years of executive management experience in bringing technology to market for both hardware and software development. He joined Agility from Virtio Corporation, which provides system models for pre-silicon software development, where he held both marketing and sales management roles during his six-year tenure. Prior to Virtio, Larry was vice president of marketing at IKOS Systems (now part of Mentor Graphics Corporation), a leading provider of emulation and acceleration products for SoC verification, where he participated from startup stage through Initial Public Offering (IPO). He held a variety of increasingly important roles in design engineering, applications engineering, marketing and business development over a 14-year period. He started his career as a design engineer at Corvus Systems and Hewlett Packard. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

Rod O'Reilly, Vice President of MATLAB Solutions Sales

Rod O'Reilly - VP Sales

Rod O'Reilly has over 25 years of experience selling innovative technologies for testing hardware and software products. Prior to Agility Design Solutions he was Vice President of North American and Western Sales at Segue Software where his sales teams consistently led the company in revenue generation. Prior to Segue Software he ran North American, Western and Eastern Area Sales for Ikos Systems. Rod has been a marketing manager at Sun Microsystems, a sales representative and application engineer for Daisy Systems Inc., and a product engineer at Fairchild Semiconductor. Rod holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire at Durham.

Jim Peterson, Vice President Engineering

Jim Peterson - VP Engineering

Jim Peterson has more than 30 years experience managing computer software and hardware development. For the last 15 years, he has specialized in web technologies and electronic publishing. Jim was the VP of Engineering and Product Management at Remedy, a BMC Software Company building enterprise class IT Service Management and customer support solutions, and the VP of Engineering Operations at Liberate Technologies, a developer of internet-based middleware for enhanced interactive television. He has directed engineering efforts for various Adobe Systems products, including FrameMaker and PostScript. Jim has a B.S. in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology and a masters degree in Engineering from UCLA.

Tony Vitucci, Vice President of Consulting Services

Tony Vitucci - VP COnsulting Services

Tony Vitucci has over 20 years of experience in the electronics industry including chip design, engineering management and managing design services businesses.

A founder of Advanced Digital Designs (ADD), a consulting firm based near Chicago offering design services and IP, Vitucci profitably built a business that successfully completed chip design projects for many of the world's leading electronics companies. In August, 2000, Vitucci sold ADD to Dauphin Technology Inc., a maker of set top boxes, and continued there as Vice President of Sales for Product and Design Services.

Prior to ADD, Vitucci managed worldwide business development for ASIC design services at Mentor Graphics, and was an engineering manager for Motorola.

Vitucci holds a BSEE from University of Illinois.
