Palo Alto, Calif. –– April 18, 2006 –– Catalytic Inc. today announced that Enuclia™ Semiconductor, Inc., an Oregon-based fabless semiconductor company developing innovative technologies that deliver superior image quality and cost for the HDTV display electronics market, has selected Catalytic’s RMS (Rapid MATLAB® Simulator) software.
Catalytic Inc. provides software tools that shorten signal processing design time. Catalytic’s RMS works seamlessly with MATLAB from The MathWorks to provide fast simulation of MATLAB code. Enuclia’s patent-pending Pipeline™ video architecture greatly enhances image quality for next generation displays. Enuclia is developing new algorithms in MATLAB to remove artifacts and error magnification often found in conventional television display architectures.
Remarks Carl Ruggiero, Enuclia’s chief technology officer: “The new class of imaging algorithms we are developing have high requirements for speed and performance. Catalytic’s RMS is a significant enhancement to our existing design flow.
Willie Glover, Enuclia’s director of video processing, adds: “Catalytic’s strong support and overall ease of use enabled a smooth transition to higher productivity for our algorithm design team. The RMS tool helped accelerate some of our simulation times by almost 20X.”
“Enuclia is well on their way to becoming a leading technology provider in the flat panel TV electronics segment,” says Dave Burow, Catalytic’s chief executive officer (CEO) and president: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with their design team to help them achieve their goals.”
