Palo Alto, Calif. –– January 23 , 2007 –– Catalytic Inc ., a technology innovator that reduces the time and effort to design, verify and implement signal processing algorithms, today said that SiGine of Hangzhou, China, accelerated the design of its voice and video-over-network algorithms with Catalytic RMS (Rapid MATLAB® Simulator).
SiGine used Catalytic RMS fixed-point Analyzer and Profiler for algorithm quantization and shaved more than 50% of the typical time to quantize. Using Catalytic RMS, which works seamlessly with MATLAB® from The MathWorks to provide fast simulation of MATLAB code, SiGine was able to accelerate simulation speed by almost 10 times. This enabled the design team to shorten the simulation runs, giving them more time to analyze the performance of the algorithms and ultimately produce a better product.
“As a newly founded company, we’re dedicated to differentiating ourselves with superior products for voice and video over networks,” says Quan Daying, project manager of baseband group of SiGine. “Catalytic RMS fixed-point analyzer and profiler saved us valuable time in quantization by giving us better debug, analysis and visualization capabilities. The time saved in quantization was used to on entrate on the algorithms themselves. Because of the success of this projcct, we are extending our usage of Catalytic RMS to developing other products related to voice, video and communications.”
“Working with an innovative a company such as SiGine has been a rewarding experience,” states Dave Burow, Catalytic’s chief executive officer (CEO) and president. “We’ve had the opportunity to watch a startup take creative ideas and develop them into products that have the potential to be extremely successful.”
