Larry Melling Named Marketing Vice President at Catalytic Inc.

Palo Alto, Calif. –– May 9, 2006 –– Catalytic Inc., a provider of software that significantly accelerates digital signal processing (DSP) design and implementation, today announced that it has strengthened its management team by adding Larry Melling as vice president of marketing.

“Larry is an exceptionally strong leader, with a global perspective and broad set of marketing skills,” remarks Dave Burow, president and chief executive officer of Catalytic. “His experience in the embedded software market and in marketing leading edge design methodologies is ideal for taking Catalytic to the next level.”

Melling joins Catalytic from Virtio Corporation where he worked since 2000 in several executive sales and marketing positions. Prior to joining Virtio, Melling served as vice- president of business development and corporate marketing at IKOS Systems (now part of Mentor Graphics Corporation) where he was employed from 1985-2000. Previously, he served as vice president of marketing for IKOS where he developed corporate, technology and product marketing strategies. Earlier, he served as a hardware design engineer for Corvus Systems Incorporated and an IC design engineer for Hewlett-Packard.

Melling holds a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
